Magnificent central location just off the forest and the mountains, the centre of Kingussie and the Cairngorm nature reserve. We had amazing and delicious breakfasts with eggs from the on-site chicken population.

My room was well decorated and compact and complete with a kettle, garden view, as example. I enjoyed its staff, everyone was amicable and helpful. The location was quiet, at a medium distance from Fused and Light.

Charming garden with wildlife, cozy guest lounge, unique historical setting
The shared bathrooms could definitely use clearer communication regarding cleanliness standards!!! Not to mention, the noise from the cockerel in the morning was quite disturbing for a restful night's sleep!!!

Perfect for solo adventurers
The breakfast was a bounty of choices and hit the spot each morning plus the host always seemed to just know when I could use a hand with my plans usually popping up with the best suggestions right when I needed them
It wasn't exactly cheap but for what you get it's still a fair deal

Lovely stay with great breakfast!
First off, what a charming place! We rolled up on our bikes and were greeted like old friends. The staff was super friendly and stashed our bikes away. The room was comfy and spacious. Breakfast was fab, lots of options. Just wish there was a bit more info on dining around there, but no biggie! Totally recommend it!

I loved seeing the Red Squirrels up close, it was a unique experience. Bring a map for easier navigation as the area can be tricky to find without one.

The four-poster bed offered an very nice level of comfort, and the individual bathroom was spacious with a much-appreciated bath. Breakfast was excellent, with an array of choices including substantial fish dishes. The absence of en suite facilities means sharing may not suit everyone. Noise from a cockerel at dawn disrupted sleep, and the lack of room keys raises security concerns. It's a charming option with character but comes with noticeable drawbacks.

We loved exploring the Cairngorms, cycling and hiking amidst the fine landscapes. The place was cozy with lovely hosts, and Gus the dog. Just a heads-up , the bathroom is down the hall, but it was clean and private.
The only downside was that we couldn't lock our room from the outside.
